Itinerary for late june to early sept....

Hi,

I am planning on backpaking north India (New Dehli-Agra-Jaipur-Rajastan then Katmandu valley-varanasi and back to Delhi) from about a month and a half (June 25 -Sept 9) but I am a bit concern about the moonsoon season and wheather I am packing to much in very litle time.

I am also doing a solo trip so if anyone is planning on backpaing a similar trip on those days let me know, any advice would be more than welcome.

Thank you,
Ed

Hi, and welcome to IndiaMike.

For an idea of the weather, try this whole thread: India climate chart.

With around 2.5 months on your hands, the itinerary as such doesn't strike me as overdone at all no, you may well end up doing a lot more. The weather in those areas... well, over to the others, I've not been there in summer.

It gets discussed on this site quite a bit of course, so just search for some relevant keywords. Maybe try this recent thread, just for instance: Need help with 6 or 8 week itinerary

I was wondering if you made a mistake there yes. I guess 1.5 months would still be very reasonable for this, time-wise. The weather... I just don't know, I have no direct experience with it.

You might also want to specify what you want to do in Rajasthan and Nepal so others can advice, one can stay a week or half a year in either. See also How to get the most out of the Itinerary section.

1 1/2 months is a nice amount of time. But it will be very wet...which I think by now has been pointed out with the links to weather charts, etc.!

We spent 2 months in the summer in India years ago and mainly went to Mussorri and Srinigar. Too hot & wet everywhere else. Never spent the summer in Nepal so can't say what it's like. Probably not as hot but just as muddy!
