Taking wife and daughter (12) to Delhi Dec.29. Have 15 days. Will have car and driver, concerned about trying to do too much and the amount of time in a car. Have a tentative itinerary Delhi 2 nights, Agra 1, Jaipur 3, Udaipur 2, Jodhpur 2, Jaisalmer 2, desert 1, Bikanar 1, Mandawa 1, Delhi 1. Is Udaipur a "must see" thinking of skipping that and adding day to Jaisalmer and Bikanar. Would eliminate a 6 hour drive. Any thoughts ??

Have been to most of the towns you mentioned two years ago (except for Udaipur and Mandawa which we are doing December). From the whole trip, Jaiselmer stood out above the rest - we stayed in the fort at Desert Boys Guest House and went on a camel safari - slept the night in the desert in the dunes: something that we will remember for the rest of our lives! My personal feeling (other IM members, please don't shoot me for this) was that I wasn't really impressed with Agra, apart from the Taj Mahal of course. You are really squeezing in many towns in a short while. I would suggest only a day trip to Agra so that you could add on another day or two in Jaiselmer!

I would leave delhi early in the morning.. visit the only the Taj in Agra, & then carry on to Jaipur the same afternoon (you can skip Fatehpur Sikri since you are travelling extensively in Rajasthan). 2. Skip Mandawa 3. Udaipur is a definate Yes.! Sanj. |

I would say skip bikana, I was there on valantines day so I maybe bit bias, but it seemed to me the locals were very agressive towards me, with a wife a young woman (yes I'm refering to your daughter) with you, I'd think agian, just because, its not nice enough to make the extra hassle worth while

i think Bikaner is like any other small town in Rajasthan (except Jaipur & udaipur). People are equally 'agressive' & easy-going.
