That certainly seems like a very hectic schedule. I think you will end up spending most of your time travelling between destinations rather than at any destination! It also doesnt leave much room for the inevitable delays!
Although I havent travelled much in northern India (yet), so I cant comment on what your destinations are like, I would suggest removing at least one stop, or else you will be too rushed to enjoy anything! |

Crikey!!
That's a busy schedule you've got there. If you're going to go for it i'd suggest trying to book your transport well in advance - good luck with http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ .Personally, I'd allow 2-3 days in most places, if you want to move on you can but it will give you time to absorb a bit of local life. Hoping not to sound condesending, the best advice I can give is that India is'nt the UK and things work...'differently' negotiating the procurement of a train ticket can be a lot of fun if you've got time on your hands but if your in a rush i guess it could be awfully stressful.shanti, shanti! |

Are you interested in overnight trains?
Available for..... This first one sounds crazy, but I'd be tempted.....Sultanpur is 100 kms from Allahabad, connected by a direct road, journey time about 3 hours. (Allahabad-Agra daytime trains take 7 hours) Train 4863 Sultanpur 21:03 Agra Fort 06:05 An alternative.... Train 2401 Allahabad 00:52 Tundla 06:32, Tundla is 24kms from Agra. Train 8237 Agra Cant 16:10 Amritsar 08:55 Train 4120 Haridwar 00:05 Kathgodam 07:15 (Kathgodam is about an hour from Nainital) Train 5014 Kathgodam 20:40 Delhi S. Rohilla 05:10 If you re-write your Itinerary with a few overnight trains it doesn't seem so tight.

She is generally allowing a full day for journey so it should be alright.
Shimla-Haridwar Bus journey is tiring. You will have to run around but yess , by the end of it you will be able to tick a lot of items in your to-do list (thats how travel is taken by most of us ) ![]() |

Trying to fit too much in
I earlier posted a thread-FIRST TIME TRAVEL OVERSEAS.
I planned to see almost 13 cities/places in abt 20days. Almost everyone thought I was mad. Well I was planning to take the train at night and visit most places during the day. I am still not sure whether I need more that 1 day in certain places like allahabad. But I have already cut the no. of places down. I tried to visit north and some south cities in 1 visit. I guess its too tiring and hectic. Cut down on some travel and maybe fly. ![]() |
