Itinerary Advice
I'm flying in to Delhi on the 23rd of Sept. I've never been to India so could do with some advice on my plan. We've got about 5-6 weeks to do the following:
Delhi Varanasi Agra Jaipur Jaisalmer Jodhpur Udaipur Mumbai Goa Kerala Are we being optomistic attempting to do all this considering how big India really is? We plan to use trains and buses except for when we go in to Nepal. Is there anywhere else worth visiting in and around these areas? Any advice would be helpful, thanks. |

Hello Tara, and welcome to indiamike.com

The great advantage of a travel forum is the real personal advice that member's offer, but this advice is only possible if you give more details. Have a read of the following thread (how to get the most out of), you're the only person who will benifit from giving more details. Does Nepal come before India, or after? (Katmandu-Varanasi is a common journey).

Thanks for your reply.
Nepal comes after India. Then maybe we could travel to Varanasi from Chennai (if we change our plan) and enter Kathmandu that way, will also save on flights! I'd just like to know if all this is achievable with the time we have? I don't really want to be naive. |

Chennai-Varanasi would be a nightmare journey, about 45 hours on the train. Seriously, you've got 8 weeks till your trip, a little time invested in a website, getting loads of info, will reap great rewards on your trip. |
