Hi All,
As I wrote previously I am planning a trip for 8 days in South and plan to cover Banglore-Ooty-Coonor-Mysore- Srirangapatnam -Sravanabelagoal - Belure – Halebid-Hampie-Banglore. What do you guys think , is it doable or should I drop something from this Itinerary. Thanks in Advance Nitesh |

If you like to settle, its not ok. If you like being out and about, it is ok. Remember that it is YOUR trip.

doable but slightly hectic. you cant be planning to stay more than two days in any one place.
if you dont want crowds, may i suggest stay beyond ooty, at coonoor, or even lovedale. srirangapatnam has a nice overnight stay... a karnataka tourism hotel, they have cottages and a good location near the river. you need to book in advance on the weekend. avoid the private "resorts" there, they are overpriced and are not half as good. and an early morning trip to the bird sanctuary there is excellent. last time we went too early, but tipped the boat guy to take us out before the sanctuary officially opened. thousands of birds, and the only other visitor around was a professional photographer. it was good. mysore.. the palace is good, but the brindaban gardens are overrated. |

Thanks a lot for your quick response guys..I really appreicate your help.
My Dilemma is that should I leave Hampie out as it’s in far north and I have to travel a lot to get there from place in south like Mysore or Hasan for that matter. Nitesh |

But Don't you think beacasue of the distance of the Hampie we will miss the enjoyment in southern part like Mysore, Ooty, srirangapatnam, Bird sentury, badipur, hasan etc. I mean the distance from Hasan is around 11-12 hrs which will atleast require 6-8 hrs of rest after which. There go my one day ...I am totaly confused..on one side I don't want to miss Hampie on the other side I dont want to mess the whole trip by hurrying up evrywhere ...please give me your honest opinon..
I really admire your advice nitesh ![]() |
