India Travel Itinerary ideas for April and May? Hi there This will be my first time to go to India. I can ONLY go to India from the beginning of April until the end of May. Unfortunately, I cant change my itinerary. Does anyone have any advice or travel itinerary they think would be good for April and May? (I know its hot there then so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated). Thanks!

You would be better off spending time in the mountains. Consider Sikkim, Uttaranchal and Himachal. You could visit monasteries in Sikkim and Himachal, do Himalayan treks and see some beautiful mountains in all three states. You can visit a few highlands in the south like Kodaikanal, Thekkady and Munnar.

Hi loafy, India is vast country offering everything. mountains, deserts, beaches, jungles ..... In april-may mountains will be good ideas. Please refer incredible india and himchal pradesh, uttaranchal, sikkim state toursim website. After you reach some conclusion, you can ask fine details.

basically i would be going from the beginning of april until the end of may. I dont want to crazy boil in the hot hot heat but would like a definite mix. not so much into trekking. more to experience city life, desserts, beaches, village life, taj mahal, markets, camel rides, safaris, eating great food. a mix really. i know its supposed to be super hot, but if anyone has any suggestions for this two month trip that would be great. everything i seem to be finding on the web (udaipur, jodhpur, jaipur,) they all seem to be hot. I am still hoping to go there in the beginning of april though...

sikkim, arunachal pradesh highlands[you'll need a permit ] and the lahaul /spiti area of HP seem like a god idea. India in May is insanely hot, i.e nearly 50 celcius/ approx 120 farenheit in the shade in MP and Rajasthan.
