India In September
Hello Guys,
I am travelling to India around mid-September for two weeks and I am wondering what parts I should visit. I am flying into Mumbai first and my plan from there was to go to Goa, then Kochi, and back up to Dehli/Agra before flying home from Mumbai. However, as it is mid-September, I am wondering if it will still be monsoon season in Goa and Kochi and therefore I should avoid them. Would you recommend going somewhere else in India or should I stick to my plan? Thanks for your help, Tom |

It will be monsoon pretty well everywhere in India except Tamil Nadu from June through September.
So far this year Kerala and Goa have been experiencing a relatively "dry" monsoon -- good from the tourist perspective, perhaps not so good from a water supply and farming perspective. So if you can't change your travel dates and come a couple of months later, take your chances wherever you go, and enjoy!

Thanks for the info Jean-Philipe.
Do you approve of my travel plans? Or would you recommend a different route. I only have 2 weeks and have to spend a few days in Mumbai and a few in Goa. After Goa I have about 7 days which I was going to spend between Kochi and Dehli/Agra. But this is optional and I am open to taking a different route. Obviously I would be taking a few internal flights. Thanks again |

Is this your first visit to India? It seems you are doing a lot of travelling in a fairly short period of time. If it were me, I would cut either Kochi or Delhi/Agra.

Yes, this is my first trip to India. Like I said, I have to go to Mumbai and Goa. I know trying to fit in Kochi and Agra is difficult but by flying it should cut down on travel times. I really only want to see the Taj Mahal in Agra so ill probably only stay one or two nights there and 3 or 4 in Kochi. Instad of Mumbai-Goa-Kochi-Agra-Mumbai, I might change it to Mumbai-Agra-Goa-Kochi-Mumbai.
