| India in August. Hello for ALL. I just found this beautiful forum! First i want to sorry for my English. It's no good, but i hope you understand my. We stay in India for 12 days. From August 10th to 21th.For first i want to say, that we will see mountain, gold triangle and Goa. We planing for this itinerary: Day 01: Delhi – Rishikesh Day 02: Rishikesh – Joshimath Day 03: Joshimath – Auli – Joshimath Day 04: Joshimath – Rishikesh Day 05: Rishikesh – Agra Day 06: Agra – Jaipur Day 07: Jaipur – Goa Day 08: Goa Day 09: Goa Day 10: Goa – Delhi – Out Our questions are so: 1) What do you mean about this itinerary? 2) Itinerary from Delhi to Delhi (except Goa) will be with Company "Liberty India Travel" with car. Maybe do you heard about this company? 3) Which moonsoon type will be in August (It will rain all day or rain one hour but very strong)? 4) What we will see in Auli ( We would see peak of a mountain with ice)? If in Auli is not ice, where we could find it. We don't want trekking , only we want to see mountain wit ice for one day) 5) Which Goa beach do you offer ? We want only relaxing on beach, with more gold sand, with more palms and blue blue water ? Maybe Arambol ? And what is about price bungalows, which is very near beach?6) Maybe in our itinerary will be National parks, which work usually in August and could see Tiger ? Thank you for all in advance and have a nice day. |

| Agra-Delhi-Jaipur will be hot but reasonably doable. Goa may or may not be socked in with rain/overcast. No human can tell, period.I thought most parks don't open until Oct. 1. Note this is the tail end of the monsoon and most if not all of the parks may be closed for that.. Quote:

| Waxas, welcome to IndiaMike! To me, admittedly as someone who has not yet visited India, it looks like a punishing itinerary. Personally I'd hate it, but I realise many people are better than me at dealing with changed plans, and rushing around. I'm sure there are others better placed to comment. | Haylo---That's the mysterious ed-speak. Waxas---I agree with haylo. That's a LOT of travel for such a short trip. Better to pick fewer destinations and stay a bit longer in each. Just my opinion. |

| Agree re; "golden sands and blue blue water" - Goan beaches are not quite to this standard - India is not Thailand. Calangute is probably the best beach from this point of view. Maybe Dui would be a better option. My view would be to choose 3 locations to avoid spending the whole trip at airports and railway stations. Last edited by Brisso; Jun 24th, 2008 at 08:41.. |

| Hi waxas, and welcome to IM. Don't worry about your english. On the internet - all are equal, and even those of us from english speaking countries are still learning (well....maybe just me). this is brilliant advice. Give yourself sometime to be somewhere as opposed to constantly travelling.

| In the hills of Garhwal it will rain. Land slides are common so expect delays. I wonder what takes you to Auli in August. How do you plan to move to Goa from Jaipur? It will rain in Goa too but you will love the lush green countryside and the rain washed churches. No big tourist rush in Goa in August so it is relatively calm & quiet... good bargains at hotels. In my opinion Calangute is the worst beach in Goa. |

| Thank you for all answers. From Jaipur to Goa we flight. What is about Calangute beach? One wrote that is very well, and another wrote that is worst ? Could more opinion from another ? Maybe Arambol is better ?All wrote that it will rain in August, i understand that, but my question is: How? How often? For example? When i saw in previous post, all itinerary ( except Goa) will be with car. Therefore i think, that we have a time for North India and Delhi-Agra-Jaipur. Only question is : Auli or another mountain city ? Thank you again, and we waiting for you answers. |

| you could try Anjuna beach if calangute isnt your type. auli isnt a city. it isnt even a hillstation. indians go there for the snow and the skiiing. you are from lithuania. why go there? btw, your english is very beautiful. the mistakes made for very nice reading. |

| Personally, reading your itinerary it's too rushed. It's almost a case of getting into town, racing around to see the key sights and then moving on. Give up on Goa and spend it enjoying more of the other locations around the North where you'll be visiting. Cheers Zoltan

| In Goa, go to Palolem. www.palolem.com it will be quiet then. Just a few straglers. It's the most beautiful beach in Goa when there's no people. |

| Thanx for all! To singsub: yes i'm from Lithuania. Why Auli? I don't know. i saw, we want to see Himalay, and India travel company, offer for us Auli. Maybe another hillstation is better ? We want only Himalay see, with ice of peak mountain. We don't need trekking. To Zoltan: Yes, i know that the itinerary is very rushed, but we loved so To Ananda2193: Thank you, i will see Palolem. Are bungalows at Palolem? And how much it ? Have all nice day! |

In august, there should only be permanent structures. I'm not sure about the price then, but it will be much cheaper than normal. I would guess around 200 rupees and up then. Bargain! And the Dropadi Restaurant will be one of the few restaurants open then. They have some of the best food in Palolem. And don't go swimming in August! It's very dangerous then because of the monsoon. ![]() | |
