Hi everyone. I have been in Goa for a week and gone south by train to Gokarna and am enjoying the beaches however i fly from Goa in 3 months (jan 20th) so can do more of this in the new year. This whole trip was last minute and i thought if i booked flights to and out of Goa then the worst that will happen is three months in a beach hut! but i have suprised myself with my own get up and go attitide and in a few days will be ready to get on the train and explore more of India.
I am backpacking and am currently living off under 500 rps a day and would like to keep it that way althought i am happy to go over for entry to museums and sightseeing trips plus maybe the odd nicer hotel. Places of that i am currently looking at are Hampi, mumbai, dehli, jaipur, and i am very much looking for more suggestions of backpacker frindly places. What would be great is if someone or even a couple of people who knows india quite well could recomend some kind of route that would make sense traveling from Goa/Gokarna ending in Goa. I would like to do this by train and i am happy to do long overnight journeys for delhi etc.. So what places can i not miss out? and what is the best order for the situation i am in? i dont need anything very specific as i tend to take things day by day any way so am not likely to decide before i arrive somewhere how long i wil stay. one other thing, i only had injections from the doctor for Goa. are there any more needed for the rest of india? if so im guessing they would be quite easy to arrange in Goa? hmm im 21 male and traveling alone if that is of any use Thank you in advance for any help, it is greatly appreciated! ![]() |

You give us no idea about your interests and why you chose to come to India.
Here are the places you could visit .There are innumerous threads on all the below destinations. Read them up and decide on your itinerary. Hampi - 3 Days Ajanta / Ellora - 2 Days Rajasthan 10-12 days - Udaipur -3 , Jodhpur - 1 , Jaipur-2 Jaisalmer - 3, Ranthambore National park - 2 Delhi- 3 days Agra - 1-2 days Haridwar/Rishikesh - 3 Days Varanasi - 3 Days Khajuraho/Orchha - 2 days Bandhavgarh national Park - 2 Days Kerala - 7 days (Kochi , Allepey , Munnar , Periyar National park , Varkala) You can do a good many of the train journeys as overnighters , so you can end up saving on your hotel rent. |
