Post Hyderabad To Manali

Ok this is my first post on IM.

I'm 18,living in Hyderabad and i'm planning to travel to Manali on 19th or 20th of october for about a week.

Can anyone suggest me how i should get there and also places close to manali that i can visit while i'm there.

I've read a lot of threads on this forum before actually starting one myself.

I would like you to know that this is my first trip alone and i'm really confused.

Also if you think manali is too cold in october, any other suggestions are welcome.

I'm planning to travel by train or bus only(low budget )

I would suggest

a) Rajdhani train to Delhi and train Delhi=Pathankot
Bus Pathankot Manali

OR

b) Same train to Delhi, and then on to Chandigarh by train or bus.
Bus Chandigarh/manali

Depends what you prefer.

Some distances are here

Anyways...if you can get direct transportation to Chandigarh from Hyderabad then go for it...

Otherwise you have to come to Delhi first and you will have much more options for Delhi than Chandigarh...

I loved the bus ride from Chandigargh to Manali, so don't miss it! The ride along the Beas River is truly beautiful ...

...and hope the the water in your shower in Manali passes from the Beas through a heater before it touches you! That water is extremely cold in October.

Be sure to take clothing you can layer, as the nights can be quite cool in October.

Thanks for your response guys
I would also like to know what the budget should be around?for about 5 days.
My accomodation is free of cost in Manali as I'm a member of Sterling Resorts.
