Hyderabad - Rajasthan - Goa - Hyderabad

Dear all,

I am currently planning my Trip to India from 1st Ocober to 23d October and have sorted out the following iterinary. Unfortunately some information is still missing to complete my plans. My current iterinary looks like this:

01.10.2008: Arrival Hyderabad at 11:15 pm
02.10.2008: Hyderabad
03.10.2008: Hyderabad to Delhi via Plane (Leave: 5:55 am, Arrival: 7:55 am)
04.10.2008: Delhi
05.10.2008: Delhi to Jaisalmer via Train (Leave: 5:40 pm)
06.10.2008: Jaisalmer (Arrival: 12:45 pm)
07.10.2008: Jaisalmer
08.10.2008: Jaisalmer
09.10.2008: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur via Train (Leave 4:00 pm; Arrival 9:45 pm)
10.10.2008: Jodphur
11.10.2008: Jodphur / Udaipur
12.10.2008: Udaipur
13.10.2008: Udaipur
14.10.2008: Udaipur
15.10.2008: ???
16.10.2008: ???
17.10.2008: ???
18.10.2008: Goa
19.10.2008: Goa
20.10.2008: Goa
21.10.2008: Goa
22.10.2008: Goa to Hyderabad via Plane (Early Morning)
23.10.2008: Hyderabad Leave at 1:15 am

I have planned only short time in Hyd as I have spent a few months there already and just want to catch up with some friends.

I now have the following questions:

1) Does this iterinary look doable? Are the days I have planned for each city enough/too long/too short?

2) I read often, that for going from Jodphur to Udaipur hiring a car with stops in Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh is the best solution. Has anyone done this before? Where can I hire the car and how much will it cost? Is it doable within a day? Which other option
is there to travel from Jodphur to Udaipur?

3) I still haven't figured out what the best way for traveling from Udaipur to goa is. It shouldn't cost too much as I have a limited budget and will fly from HYD to Delhi and from Goa to Hyd. Currently it seems like I have 3 unused in between. Any suggestions how to use this best when travelling to goa?

I would be very pleased to get some answers, thanks a lot in advance.

I would add another two days to Delhi and one to Goa (thats the 3 question marks taken care of)

Delhi because there is quite a bit to see

Goa, because once you are there, might as well relax another day.


Else, the itin. is doable.

capt_mahajan, I appreciate your answer a lot, at least know I know it's doesn't a too tight schedule that I am planning.
Do you or anyone else have an answer to my questions 2 & 3?
Oh.. I am so excited, can't wait to go back to India...

My Rajasthan trips havent been too many, and have involved driving from Delhi, so can't help, sorry.
