how to get from GOA to BELGAUM???

Greetings everybody

I am not sure this is the right place to ask. I'll give it a go.

I have a flight from Belgaum to Bangalore booked (dep at 1130) and I need to get there from Cancona-Goa.
Would anyone know how can that be done? I have checked busses and trains and the times are very inconvenient. I would have to travel day before and spend an overnight there?
Any ideas anyone???

Bus, train, or private hire of a car your only options. But allow about 5 hours from Margao to Belgaum in private car, depends how much damage the monsoon has done to the road - sorry not up with the latests costs - maybe something like RS8 per km?, and you have to pay for the car return journey... or else save some money, take the bus or train and stay in Belgaum the night - I only know the railway station there, so cannot recommend anywhere, who knows, may be a nice town!

Get yourself to Panji Bus Station, grab a Karnatica (spelling?) state bus to Belgaum, should not be longer then 4 hours.

The bus station has buses leaving every half hour or so, the first one being 5:45am as memory recalls, so If you catch the first or second bus, you will get to Belgum before 10:00am.

Or if you miss the bus from Panji to Belgaum, catch one to Sankeswar (spelling), a town which borders Karnataka and Maharashtra, and is only half hour away from Belgum. Then you can catch a taxi to Belgum or a state bus.

sorry for pitching in late. Just returned from touring Goa. The bus route from Goa to belgaum is pathetic . My SUV travelled at a speed of 3km/hr. The road look like craters on the moon.
Just to add my 2 cents. There are 3 routes from where you are:

• Cancona - Madgaon - Ponda - Molem - Anamod - Khanapur - Belgaum

This is the worst road. Avoid this under any circumstances. This is the 3km/hr road and there is a stretch of 10 kms that you will need to travel at this speed. Buses ply every hour from Panaji/Ponda for this route

• Cancona - Madgaon - Panaji - Sanquelim - Chorla - Belgaum

This is the lesser evil. The road is indeed bad but not as bad as the Anamod Ghat road. Hourly buses from Panaji

• Cancona-Madgaon-Panaji-Mapusa-Sawantwadi-Amboli-Belgaum

This is THE BEST Route. Very few buses go this way. You will have to enquire at Panaji to get buses to this place. Buses going to Hyderabad/Kolhapure go this way. I would take this route and stay at a budget place in belgaum overnight

Would you risk taking a bus in the morning? I need to get into Belgaum at around 10 am in order to catch a flight into Bangalore.
Do you think this might be too bigger risk and I might miss my flight? Are Indian busses often late?

Belgaum is no longer flooded.

Taking a bus to belgaum in the morning will be risky under all circumstances.

I dont know why you have booked flight from belgaum But there are flights from Goa to Bangalore

Try them if that is not an issue.

I need to get from Goa to Trivandrum but I don't want to take train since it take 19 hours to get there. There is a flight from Bangalore to Trivandrum leaving at 1600 so in order to get there I would need to take the flight from Belgaum.
But since it might be a problem getting there I am thinking of going to Bangalore and staying there overnight and than aking the flight to Trivandrum.
However if I could make it to Belgaum than the whole trip would be much quicker.
I'll have a think about it...

unless someone has a better idea how toget to Triv?
