Horrible Experience with Travel Agency in kolkata

Dear Friends,

This Durga Puja holiday we had a really horrible experience with one established Travel Agency in Kolkata. This is our first experience with Travel Agency and that too really badddd....!!

We never travelled with These all rubbish agenies in life. This puja holiday we booked our travel plan with one agency called Wrong Route in kolkata. The experience was horrible. Something said & something done...!! Plan chalked out and the travel itenerary given to us but surprisingly the whole tour plan has to be changed in the 11th hour !!

Our tour plan was arranged as : Pedong 3N / Rishobh 1N.
But plan was changed to Pedong 3N / Chalsa 1N.

The excuse given for cancelling rishobh as water crisis....but after enquiring directly with hotels in Rishobh we find there is no Crisis for Water !!! This was shocking...!

We also booked a vehicle for this 5 day trip as reserved with paying Rs.10000.00 !! but could only get service for 3 days ! Only for pick up from NJP / one day local tour / Drop to NJP. Had to cough up Rs.4000.00(2days vehicle not available) good for nothing....
Were promised to tour Aritar Lake....but never to land there !!

The tour was full of tension & suspension until we finally cath the Train.... that too break journey..!!

Give money in advance for train ticket booking but only had to book the ticket in Tatkal and that too break journey. Had to travel by Radhikapur Exp (Kolkata Station) to Barsoi Jn & from there by Intercity exp to NJP with our 9 members and 1year 8month baby of mine. This was not expected from a reputed Travel Agency like "WRONG ROUTE" whose brand ambassador is Mr.Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

We could not know our reserved vehicle no. in NJP till 25th afternoon (our journey date). Horrible.

So Amateurish agency. This is not at all expected from a reputed Travel Agency. This is un-professionalism in their part.

Never to avail any travel agency in our future travel plan.

HAPPY DIPAWALI 2009
WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY DIPAWALI.

It is really frustrating to go through such experiences. I think you went to the 'wrong' agency to start with, after all, they have made their intentions absolutely clear by the name itself . Btw, the first line on their site says, “Wrong Route is not for the weak-hearted”

Sue them. Find a consumer forum and a lawyer. No other form of protestations will change anything.

I agree with Sarkar - this agency is living up to its name. What an awful experience, Nikon.

I have moved your thread to the Travel Itinerary Advice forum where this sort of information is more suitable. And members can beware such agents.

The one time I booked a tour with an agent was with Panickers - a bus day trip to Agra. That didn't turn out the way I expected either, however won't go off topic with my moaning about it. From that day, I have never used an agent. All trips, travel I do myself.

I agree!
It would take a rather delinquent, non-conformist and frivolous kind of brain to start up a travel business with such a regrettable name!
Can't put the entire blame on such an agency!

hi,

There office is in Baghajatin & new office near Triangular Park way from Kalighat metro to Gariahat.

These kind of Agencies are jeopardizing our indian tourism industry. Nobody would like to face these kind of harrasment even after paying full amount of 18000/- in advance.

So Pathetic....

bsprasad - I often wonder if you make a complaint to these consumer people will something actually be done about it? Do they have a good record of following through with complaints?

Its something like this..?

Unless you go and file a consumer complaint physically with consumer forum, you are not going to get justice

But at the same time, You post your worst experiences in www.consumercomplaints.in and mouthshut.com more and more people will read that and will be careful by not falling for these kind of wrong tour operators.

A lot of people use google to check for company names before using them. Indiamike seems to rate quite highly on google searches

With a name like "Wrong Route" travel, after reading the above comedy of errors, one can't help but speculate as to whether they are aiming their services at the specialist masochist market...
