Himachal or Sikkim - July 1st week 7D/6N
Hello all,
I'm in a bind deciding between Shimla and Sikkim for my honeymoon. I understand that July is not the best time to travel to either of these places, due to the monsoon. When: July 1st week Length: 7 Days / 6 Nights This is the only possible time for us and we would like to go to a place that will be least affected by the monsoon. I dont want to be stuck in the hotel all day. We are looking to vacation at a hill station or two. We have ruled out Kerala and Coorg after learning that monsoon will be creating havoc in the 1st week of July. Can you guys suggest what place would be better in terms of weather. Thanks! Senthil |

Could Ladakh be an alternative for you?

Thanks for the suggestion. We are looking to see a lot of greenery. Ladakh is stunning but that is not what we are looking for!

Rains are much more stronger and can hamper all your plans in Sikkim. If you are lucky enough, monsoon may still not have arrived in Manali and Dalhousie at the time of your going. Even if it does rain, these are not bad places to be in. I was in Manali in 2nd week of July and definitely enjoyed my time there. It was not clear blue skies and shining sun all the way, but it wasn't a washout either. We could do plenty of walking around and seeing places nearby.

arunchs, Thank you very much for your reply. This is very encouraging. We are going to Manali! Are there any good travel agents that you can suggest? Or should I try and do it by myself?

No, Manali is anytime better than Shimla. It would be better if you plan the trip on your own
