That is awesome, Velu!
Dear Mr. Velu,
Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to post that information. It is kind and thoughful of you to share this much detail. I had to laugh about the uncrowded roads and nearby wild animals and your fears for your family. Especially i wonder how your Mother did on the trip? I am going with my 21 year old daughter, while I am nearly 59 years. Will my poor old bones survive the roads?? (-: Also, you can see from other posts I've made on IndiaMike. that i'd wondered if a trip to Wayanad is worthwhile. Based on your reply, it is, especially as we'll be nearby. Oh, how i wish i had more thime than two weeks!! Also, i was intrigued by your description of Irappu Falls, and checked for internet photos--wow! Beautiful! And getting there--what an adventure! We may stay ovnernight in Nagarhole Park, at Kabini River Lodge. Those jeep safaris are a MUST-DO from what you wrote. As the trip gets closer (I'm starting to plan for Dec 2009 in a year) you'll no doubt see other questions, especially as we probably will enter India via Bangalore Airport then take train to Mysore for a night or two stay. Very best wishes to you, and much appreciation for your insights, hints, travel tips (food to take, etc) descriptions . |

Great post, pmvelu. Informative. Lengthy is good. If inappropriate (and your post is not ), it may often still be ok. My posts are usually those ![]() It's only copy and paste (for copyright issues) that's usually a problem. |

Can any one give me some advice please. We are planning a trip to Southern India in August and wanted to go to Nagahole and Bandipur National Parks. But according to the Rough Guide Nagahole is to be "avoided in The Monsoon Season as most of the the dirt tracks get washed out and leeches make hiking impossible." Does anyone have any thoughts on this, this thread would seem to be suggesting that Nagahole is fine in August. Thanks.

Hi, Sonj Crabb--I came to this forum to ask the same question you did, and found you had already posted it! I read the same information you did and wondered about it. I live in the USA, and we plan to visit Nagarhole, based on what we have read here, in August. I, too, would be happy to hear anyone's thoughts on this question.
Thanks to everyone for all of the detailed information here! Allison in Boston, MA, USA |
