Help! South then North or North then South

I'm currently in Mumbai and have until the end of May in India. My initial plan was to head South (after a quick visit to Aurangabad) via Goa to Kerala, Tamil Nadu on to Calcutta then west and north (nothing detailed planned) and then Rajasthan before returning to Mumbai for my flight home.

I'm begining to have second thoughts mainly influenced by the wheather, if I headed North and did the route more or less in reverse, might it be more bearable given the temperature increase in the coming months?

Is Rajasthan and the Northern Plains followed by southern India and then back North to the hills for May a viable or wise idea?

Or should I just concentrate on the North and the save the South for another visit to India? arghhhh!

I'd like to avoid flying (becuse of cost) and will be staying mostly budget.

Please help, my head is wrecked!

if you wanna see RAJSTHAN,,TAJ,,DELHI,,VARANASI ..etc,,,its advisable to see in these days ..as the weather is very pleasent here...
after mid APRIL its miserable...too hot (above 42 degree celcius) these places..
after VARANASI.. u can start for HIMALAYAS from HARIDWAR or KULLU.. then towards LADDAKH/KAZA or KASHMIR in may end.....

need any help in DELHI ...cntct me
