Help !! Short Trip with a Wedding at the end 5 days eep!
Hi all,
I've been reading through some of the great information all of you travelers have been posting and found it all quite valuable. I think I have more of a grasp at this point, I do wish to come back for a few months sometime, but this my first trip will have to be a bit of a whirlwind...
I am arriving in India on Jan 31st and Staying through Feb 9.
We land in Delhi, and the plan was to take an overnight to Jodhpur and make our way back to Delhi for the wedding, with a driver, stoping in Jaipur for a bit. We will have a day after the wedding to see Agra.
I guess I'm wondering if this is a good plan, or if we are missing something wonderful, or could use a tip.
1/31 9pm Arrive Delhi (Staying in Delhi)
2/1 Overnight train to Jodhpur
2/2 Stay in Jodhpur
2/3 Stay in Jodhpur (should we stay 2 nights??)
2/4 Travel to Jaipur (stay in Jaipur)
2/5 Head to Dehli for Wedding
2/6 Wedding
2/7 Wedding
2/8 Wedding
2/9 Agra and back - Fly out
The wedding is 3 days long, and we believe we should have time to see sights of Dehli during this.
I have looked at the heritage hotels in Rajasthan and am fascinated. We are staying at the Imperial for 3 days in Delhi during the wedding with a group of friends, but my girlfriend and I are pretty much on our own prior to it, and I would like to have an experience that is a bit more rustic (authentic?). I hope I didn't break any rules by saying where we are staying...
Also I was looking at possibly trying to visit the Brij festival, is this any fun? I'm sorry to have just missed Holi on this trip.
Can anyone make some suggestions, there is so much, and we have such little time it is pretty overwhelming.
Our budget is medium I would say.
Thank you in advance!!
