Help me get from Udaipur to Jodhpur, please???

Hello everyone!!

Firstly, I wanted to say what a great site this is! I’m off in a week on my first trip to India and researching on this site has been a MASSIVE help!!

Anyway, I’d like to ask a few questions as my travel-buddy and I are a bit clueless about some things:

1) How can we get from Udaipur to Jodhpur on Friday 26th Oct 07? We can’t seem to find a train…

2) Can you also recommend a nice hostal in Pushkar on the lake? We wanted somewhere with a good vibe so we can take the first days a bit easy and get through our culture-shock…

3) Does anyone recommend a nice hostal in Delhi with airport pick-up? We’re arriving pretty late at night and it’d be great to have that sorted out.

4) Is the Jet Airways flight from Varanassi to Delhi at 14h40 the only one? Has anyone else booked internal flights through Opodo.com?

Their are no trains between Udaipur and Jodhpur so you have to go by bus. It is a ride of an hour of six.

As for the rest of your questions, use the search engine, if that is difficult, start a new thread for each question, but adding them to this thread is not a good idea, anyone who knows a good hostel in Pushkar or Delhi would not think of looking at this thread.

Vonkla, thanks for the info... I will check out buses once we get to Jodhpur - hopefully it won't be too hard to book one there!

its best to take a taxi/bus to Ranakpur, check the place out, and then take another bus/taxi to Jodhpur the next day.

Isabella - Pushkar Palace is a good hotel right on the Lake - it is in the mid-range to expensive range of rates however but if you can afford it, very nice. Opposite is Pushkar Inn - not right on the Lake but with a fantastic Lake view from the front garden and a nice garden area for sitting out in. It is cheaper, the rooms are o.k. - my friends stayed there and thought it was just passable, bathroom not 100% spotless, the bedsheets they thought felt a bit tacky but that might have just been a problem with the washing water!
