Haridwar - Kedarnath - Badrinath - Mussoorie Itinerary feasibility check

Hello,

I like to have some experienced member's attention.

I will visit Haridwar, Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Mussoorie in the month of October this year with my family. I am giving below the full itinerary. Can any body tell me about the feasibility of this tour plan. Can we follow this itinerary?

I want to book a car (preferably an Ambassador) from Haridwar for the full trip. Is it possible? If yes, then, can any body tell me about the tariff and where should I book the car?

ITINERARY:

07th October, 2008 (6 am): Haridwar ---> Gaurikund (Night stay)
08th October, 2008 (5 am): Gaurikund ---> Kedarnath (Night stay)
09th October, 2008 (8 am): Kedarnath ---> Gaurikund (at 1 pm) --> Gopeshwar (Night stay)
10th October, 2008 (6 am): Gopeshwar ---> Badrinath (stay 2 hrs)
10th October, 2008 (10 am): Badrinath ---> Mussoorie (stay 10th night and 11th day & night)
11th October, 2008 (6 am): Mussoorie local site seeing
12th October, 2008 (2:30 am at night): Mussoorie ---> Dehradun Railway Station (To catch Janshatabdi Exp. at 5:10 hrs morning (12th Oct')

I am expecting some experienced person's response.

Can any body help me giving information about Ashrams and Dharamshalas at Kedarnath. I need Address/ E-mail/ Phone no. and procedure of advance booking of rooms.

I will visit Kedarnath October this year.
Please suggest some Ashram and Dharamshala at Kedarnath.
I need e-mail/ ph. no. using which I can book rooms in advance

1. Are you hiring a car for the journey or travelling by bus. If it is bus, I am not sure whether you will get a bus from Gaurikund for Gopeshwar after 1.00 p.m.

2. If you are starting from Gopeshwar at 6.00 a.m., I don't think you can start from Badrinath at 10.00 a.m. after staying for 2 hours in Badrinath.

3. Badrinath-Mussoorie journey looks vary tight.

Hi,
your trip upto badri is ok but you say 2 nights in badri and 11th in mussoori, I think you have to travel back to rishikesh and then to mussoori,
Please be clarify.

Anyways... The itinerary seems fine except for The Badrinath part...

You have to leave Badrinath early in the morning if you are dependant on the buses... And you can't really reach Badrinath from Gopeshwar as fast as you have in mind...

During the return trip from Badrinath, you possibly need to spend the night at Haridwar / Rishikesh... Watch the evening Aarti and then head towards Mussoorie in the early morning...

Mussoorie is not sure till now.
What's your suggestion; should I stay one day more at Badrinath and visit Mana Village, Valley of flower, etc. and come back to Dehradun and cancel Mussoorie?

I am planning to hire a car from Haridwar for the full trip.
Can anybody give me any idea about the tariff of cars and from where is should hire?

Hi indranil,
I paid around 3000/= in 2006 oct for my char dham trips. I feel gmvnl is the best bet or i can give some phone of local drivers.
I feel the distance between badri to mussoorie is app 550kms.

Gaurikund will always be croweded, i advice you to stay at chandrapuri a beautiful place on the banks of river mandhakini, or rampur is also ok. Try and contact www.gmvnl.com for cars and room.

According to http://in.maps.yahoo.com, Badrinath to Mussoorie distance is 308 kms.
