Hampi is a beautiful ruin city. hampi grows on you as miles and miles you go around in hampi you feel you are traversing a kingdom and time.

It will take atleast 3 days to see half of hampi properly.

Am not sure about ellora though.

Hampi is a travel and an 'experience' too if you know what i mean.

Is almost impossible to answer such a question. Is like : Agra or Varanasi? Of course Varanasi, and in the first question my result is a draw, but I went first to Hampi.

Both can be difficult to fit in if time is short, and for this reason it may depend on the rest of your itinerary.

i head to hampi tomorrow and i'm so excited i might wee a little bit.

as already posted above, ellora is magnificent and can be done in 1 day. i was so overwhelmed by the tranquility of the buddhist caves, the sheer spectacle of the kalaisa and the intricate detail of the jain temples that i did wee a little bit with excitement.

ajanta was awful, too busy, not enough time in each cave, too many people trying to sell you useless pap and getting aggressive when you wouldn't buy. no overexcited weeing there i can tell you
