GPS WayPoints & Tracks for Leh, Ladakh & Himachal etc.
Here is HVK's GPS file of the entire Tour Route and Waypoints. It may be of great value to people who drive or bike in these popular routes of J&K, Kargil, Zanskar-Valley, Ladakh, Leh, Nubra-Valley, Pangon-Tso, Tso-Morori, Keylang, Lahaul, Spiti-Valley, Kinnaur, Sangla-Chitkul, Shimla etc.
The file is a Zipped KML file, that can be downloaded, unzipped and opened in Google Earth. The File is here: LADAKH-HVK It is also available as a Garmin Mapsource (GDB file): HERE . . |

to this kind of traveling all over India with my engineering classmates(guys with the same passion).I live aboard and visited many countries in middle east and some in Europe and enjoyed my travels a lot...but i am always homesick…Always thought India has much to offer ands feeling that i have not seen enough of India(even though I was born and bought up there and i traveled to many parts of India on my job for 7 years). After reading your posts I want to know from you (If you can..please)… what made you retire at 53...is it a sudden decision or a well planned one w.r.t finances and securing your family well being etc...i know you are a IIT man ….but I guess there is always an internal struggle (day dreaming I my case) ,where to stop and to pursue your own passions.Like I said my retirement is very far (I am in my mid thirties) and i want to seriously plan and save so that I can peruse my dream of traveling all over India by road, train, trekking and camping etc. Thanks for the welcome and good wishes. My retiring was both - a long day-dream playing at the back of my mind for 30 years ... but happened suddenly! I mean I was always day-dreaming of retiring at 45; but by then was too immersed in work to quit. Around 55, one fine day, just suddenly decided to retire and make the dream real! ![]() When I retired the money (savings) was not enough (per wife) ... It never is! Now after some years of 'retired' experience, I think it is (and was always) enough. You just need to 'adjust' the tap a bit. I wish I had retired much earlier. I could have. . . |
