Golden Triangle & Beaches, end of April

Dear all,
I am young professional from Uzbekistan, who is planning on visiting India together with a girlfriend in the end of April: 21 April - 2 May. Flying to and from Delhi. I want to go over a golden triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, maybe Jodpur too?), and I also want to spend 2-4 days at seaside. However I don't want to fly to Goa to save money and time, but rather maybe choose some good beaches in Gujarat. What would you suggest?
I am thinking of doing the following:
1 day - arrival to Delhi, sightseeing, shopping
2 day/night travel Delhi-Agra (see Agra?)
3 day - Agra sightseeing (travel to Jaipur?)
4 day - travel Agra - Jaipur, sightseeing
5 day - Jaipur sightseeing (departure to beach?).
6 day - travel Jaipur - beach,
7-10 day - beach
10 day - Delhi sightseeing and shopping
11 day - departure from Delhi

I want to do medium budget.

What would you suggest with regard which beaches in this time of the year? Which place and hotels in these cities? What travel mode? Train or Bus?

Beachs in gujrat ?? you have enough time .. nothing like goa, catch a train would be economical..

wish you will have nice time here in india while your trip.
Well you have mentioned about the golden triangle (DELHI- AGRA - JAIPUR), having 11 days in hand and also need to visit any of the Indian Beaches nearby ,,,,
Well for that i would suggest you DAMAN & DIU in GUJRAT STATE. Diu do not have railway facility, nearest railway station is Veraval (90 km from Diu). Veraval is directly connected to Rajkot and Ahmedabad by Train.Any of these station may be reached on overnight journey by train from Jaipur.

Dear Abhimeranaam,

thank you for the feedback! Do you agree with Ranjan's post that Goa is much better? In the end of April is the weather fine at Diu, Damman or Goa? Also, is there a train station at Damman, or maybe is there is a bus from Jaipur to Diu straight?
How long the trip from Jaipur to Diu may take? Alternatively, how long the trip from Jaipur to one of the beaches of Goa may take by train/bus?

Hi Zafar,
I totally agree with Rajan,,, that anytime GOA is much better than DAMAN & DIU ,,, but due to shortage of time of urs ,,, i suggested you make visit Daman & DIU.

Daman also do not have a Railway station,, however VAPI (12 km) and Valsad (35km) are near by towns to reach there. best time to visit this place could be between October to May.

For Goa from Jaipur ,,, if you are thinking to go via train that may took some 24 hours apprx. journey or you may catch a flight to GOA from Delhi and no doubt visiting GOA would be life time experience. Get ready to take out some more bucks out of your pocket,,,to make your visit to Goa.

Thanks! But what about the trip Jaipur - Diu, or Jaipur - Daman, how long does that take?
But why Goa beaches much better than other beaches? Is is a stereotype? Do the places differ that much? If that is so, that means beach places in Gujarat suck? I am missing smth...

Also, is it better to travel bus or train between Delhi - Agra - Jaipur? What's the prices and time lengths?

Another question, I was trying to book/buy train tickets, but faced a bit of problem. I don't know what train stations to put... I need the following routes, could you please suggest:
1. Delhi (city center) - Agra (city center) overnight travel AC2
2. Agra (city center) - Jaipur (city center) overnight travel AC2
Are these possible? I am confused by IRCTC system...
Also what's the difference between Delhi and New Delhi? Would appreciate your soon response!

I'll just probably give up Goa this time... and concentrate on historical part of the trip (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, + maybe Jodhpur and Jaisalmer). The trip to Goa appears to be either very lengthy (by train) or too expensive (by plane)...
What other cities/places would you suggest me to visit within 10 days, apart from:
1 day - arrival to Delhi, sightseeing, shopping
2 day/night travel Delhi-Agra
3 day - Agra, sightseeing (travel to Jaipur)
4 day - Jaipur, sightseeing
5 day - Jaipur, sightseeing (departure to ???).
6 day - ????
7-10 day - ???
10 day - Delhi sightseeing and shopping
11 day - departure from Delhi

I am traveling solo, doing the Golden Triangle route beginning on Sunday, April 20. If you and your girlfriend are looking for a travelling partner, I would enjoy travelling with someone!
