Goa>Karnataka>Kerala>Tamil Nadu

My wife and I will be in india from just before New Years Eve through the month of Janurary. We will be bringing in the New Year in Goa but from there would love to see as much of Karataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu as possible, without burning ourselves out with too much travel. I would love to here people's suggestions on places to go/not go. Also, any tips on inter-state transportation in the region would be much appreciated.

hello friend,
i don't know much about the kind of places you r interested in but i will include some of the places i chose to visit on my south india trip in the states u mentioned...
in karnataka hampi is not to be missed,also i'll explore badami with its caves and the surrounding villages with temples
for tamil nadu i chose to go back to the world heritage site of mahaballipuram as well as kanchipuram near chennai,to madurai for its amazing sri meenakshi temple and then to rameshwaram across from sri lanka,and on the way to kerala cool down at the kodai hill station
in kerala i'll go to kochi,take the backwater trip and chill out in varkala
now in general its best to be very flexible when travelling in india so these r some of the places i'd like to revisit in the region...
