Getting around Southern India
Hi - is there anyone who can help with advice/experiences about transport to the following destinations: via train/bus/taxi ... whatever else?! ... such as which mode of transport, how long it takes etc ...
Mumbai - Panaji (train to Karmali, right?) Panaji - Palolem (train from Karmali - Canacona?) Palolem - Kochin Kochin - Kerala Backwaters Kerala Backwaters - Periyar Periyar - Pondicherry Pondicherry - Mamallapuram (bus/taxi?) Mamallapuram - Chennai Many thanks  |

I am planning on doing pretty much the same route next year except I will be travelling in the opposite direction so any advice would benefit me too.

Kerala backwaters
hi nick - sorry, not sure of exact place to stay yet - we're just wanting to do a trip on a rice boat on the backwaters, so if you can offer advice of somewhere nearby that would be great!
