Yep ! It's perfectly doable.

However, Govt. has recently imposed restriction on the no. of trekkers allowed per day on this trek. You may Plan accordingly.

And you were intending to apply for the permit at Uttarkashi when?

Gomukh Tapovan Nandanvan Trek

Hi Friends,

We three are reaching Uttarkashi on 1st June 2009 at around 2PM for Gomukh-Tapovan-Nandanvan trek . We are little bit confused whether we stay 2nd June at Uttarkashi to arrange permission/guide/porter and other trekking arrangements and proceed to gomukh on 3rd June or next day we proceed to gangotri and stay at gongotri to arrange all those things and for acclimatization.

If we arrange everything at uttarkashi on 2nd and start for gomukh from gangotri on 4th, how they(guide and porters) will join us.

Please Help.

Partha.

You need to arrange everything at Uttarkashi, as simple as that. The permit has to include the porters' names.

Could stay at GMVN or Monal Tourist Home or Shivalinga hotel, or any of the hundreds of hotels in and around Uttarkashi. Your hotel staff could help you with the preparations for the trek, or your could ask at GMVN, or MOnal Tourist Home both of which run information centers for tourists and can guide you to the right agencies for guides and supplies etc.
