From Mumbai to Karnataka and Kerala in 16 days, possible?

Hey guys,

We are 5 (2 girls, 3 men) trainees working and living in Mumbai. In Christmas time we will have about 17 days off and we want to visit south part of India. We are interested in:
- India heritage e.g. Hampi, Mysore, (!)
- wildlife: we consider Nagarhole, Periyar Wildlife Sancutary or just skip it and do it in Rajastan later in March
- banans and tea plantations (coffee and spices are good as well) if you know some close to typical touristic places
- Backwaters in Kerala
- beaches

We think they should be the most known, beautiful places with many attractions (e.g. we wouln't like to travel for hours to see only one temple).

So far we have prepared this list (based on the internet and references):
Mumbai ->
Bijapur ->
Hampi ->
Mysore(the same day Sirangapatanam) ->
Trivandrum or to the Nagarhole and then to Trivandrum ->
Aleppey ->
Kumarakom ->
Thekkady ->
and than to
Pariyar Wildlife Sanctuary for 2 days ->
Munnar ->
Cochi
and finally back to Mumbai.

I know that it is very ambitious, but is it possible? If not what should we skip (keep in mind our main points). You can also suggest us some substitutions in this area.

Now we reach the most difficult problem: how to co-ordinate train and buses? We want to travel at night, in sleeper class or sleeper class A/C. Our goal is to save money and time on transportation and spend more for backwaters, safaris and so on.
