Yes the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism hotels. I was just trying to decide between economy hotels or deluxe style hotels and I noticed many of the cheaper hotels was Madhya Pradesh which is why I was wondering if they are good.
My options are either small compact car and then either economy hotel or deluxe or midsize car and either economy or deluxe? |

I'd just try and decide between whatever budget you're looking for, then be less fixated on whoever happens to run it.
I'm sure even with MP Tourism (I'm sure you'll realize Madhya Pradesh is just the name of that particular state? On your route, it should only pertain to Orchha and Khajuraho I think. MP Tourism or whatever it's called precisely would then be their state tourist board) even their one hotel will be better than the other, naturally depends on the staff and so on, and what received rave reports last year may really stink this year, or the other way around. But, maybe someone will be in with their views on it. Again, I'd mostly settle on a general plan then see how it works out, and accepting that it won't always be great, nor always lousy. India like most places is full of cheap hotels that are really excellent value, and expensive ones that aren't. And vice versa, of course. It's hard to find any guarantees about it, and stars and stuff won't always tell you much as such. In fact esp. in India they tend to tell you fairly little.

I'd say this is generally the best mindset to approach India with yes. Mind you, we will all have our different wishes and expectations, of course. But for lack of flexibility on your behalf, she may really drive you nuts. Like I've said many a time before, India is not gonna bend for you, so you'd be best off bending for her
![]() Not every day will be great probably, but then where are they ever I can have a disappointing meal staying right at home even, perhaps even in my favorite restaurant on a bad day. I'm sure you can, too.Oh, thanks if you find the site helpful btw. It's always nice to hear, to all of us here ![]() |
