first time in India; arriving October 21; leaving November 4; please help
hi,
I will be arriving in Mumbai on October 21, 2012. This is my first time to India. I have traveled quite extensively. I really wanted to visit Kerala.
While researching the weather it seems as if going to Kerala might not be that great of the decision considering the vast amounts of rainfall expected due to the late monsoon season.
I'm very open-minded and not settle on any destination. What would be the best place to visit during this timeframe?
several things to consider:
1. I am in a wheelchair.
2. I do not enjoy cold weather (I prefer 22°C and above, preferably 28°C and sunshine).
3. I am not a big city person.
thank you so much for the help,
Eitan Waks

Hi Eitan and Welcome to IndiaMike.
I think the monsoon will be over when you reach Kerala. It is Tamil Nadu that has rain at that time. I haven't rechecked this but one November I travelled from Mumbai down to Kerala, with several stops, and it was hot to very hot all the way. I don't remember rain then.
There will be others who really know Kerala but I did like Fort Kochin and Trivandrum(very hot). I enjoy good beaches particularly some in Goa.

So are you having someone to help you as you are on a wheelchair. India does not have too many facilities to be on your own in many places. Check out the thread as it also has discussion around alternatives to kerala in maharshtra. 10 days in India...Mumbai & then what??
