Feeling generous? Trip assistance needed, thx

Hello India Mike peeps, cool website!

I'd really appreciate some help and advice on a trip to India during Dec and Jan. We have 24 days total. We'd like to see best bits of rajasthan and then have some downtime in the south in Kerala.

Rajasthan:
Confused with the sheer amount of info out there and would like to know if this itinerary is too ambitious and if we should spend longer anywhere?:

Delhi 01 nt
Agra 01 nt
Samode 01 nt
Jaipur 02 nts
Nimaj Nimaj Palace (Suite) 1 ngt
Jodhpur 01 nt
Deogarh 02 nts
Devigarh 02 nts
Fly to mumbai

We are planning on hiring a car and driver and would like mid price accommodation with character, more heritage style.

My main issue has been if we should book via an agent, book individual hotels online or wait and book when we arrive?

Keen not to get ripped off.

Kerala:
Any mid-range peaceful accommodation anyone can recommend?

Thanks in advance
Junior

Mid-range is a very subjective word. From your Rajasthan accomodation choices, I presume you are actually a little on the higher side of what would generally qualify as mid-range.

In Kerala, at Munnar you could stay at Tea County, The Chancellor, Tall Trees. At Thekakdy either the Aranya Niwas or the Lake Palace. In Kumarakom chose the Waterscapes.

KTDC, the govt. local state owned organisation has some of the best located properties in Kerala. And they are managed very well too.

I would definitely stay longer in Delhi.
1 day is not enough even to take a glimpse of this beautiful city.
