Go when its not hot and humid. You should make up your own mind if you are over the age of 18 (I tell my son over 25)..

Thumbs up come to india

India is big, vast and so hetrogenous that one end is entirely different from the other. So if North and central is very hot, the himalayan states in north and east would be ideal. The nilgiris and coorg in south would be good. So dont go by stereotypes , come and see for yurself but I advice yu come with a open mind and better if yu come with a companion.

Hmm, yes, India has such a huge variety of climate (and everything else, I suppose!).

It is impossible to tell how another individual will react to so many degrees and so much humidity. Strangely, I always hated heat until I came here, now I revel in it (well, to some extent; AC is part of my life-support system at home) and I hate the cold. Mrs N got the living room temperature down to 27 and I complained bitterly and wrapped myself in a shawl.

I remember my first day out in Chennai back in 1997. Stupid Brit, I wore my blazer. Well, for a few minutes, anyway!

Its not that I don't pour with sweat on the hot days, especially if I have to do anything, but I have learnt not to mind it too much. It takes more than a couple of weeks to do that though. Acclimatisation takes months, and then you have to go through it all again when you get back to the cold.

You might love it... who can tell? There is certainly no reason tat it should make you ill, as long as you do not risk heat shock/stroke by overdoing it. Come for a warm-up!

Grizzly, if you want to go, you should go. Life's too short. You really can't predict when is the next time you'll have enough time and money plus the physical ability to visit India.

Hot and humid ? Ha ! Depends on the season. Agreed, last nov it was a nice 35°C in the South. Still I remember freezing my b*tt in December (years ago) while visiting Rajasthan. I freeze easy, but it's not always Tahiti out there.

May I, very immodestly, suggest you read this post of mine on top of the other members' suggestions ? India : Total Ripoff !

Have a great trip,

In summers it is hot and humid in the North (but not in the Himalayan region) but in winter it is cold in the North but sea beaches would be pleasant. I think India is a all weather destination, depends where you want to be and when
