Delhi to Mumbai, 18 days, November?
The flights are booked. The bit in between is to be decided and i would be appreciate any insight that you guys could give.
We are a couple in our late 30's on a medium budget (with money to spend on essential experiences but we do not do luxury). All modes of transport will be used. We have never been to India but have travelled extensively other continents and we are very flexible. Is it possible in Mumbai to spend 2 days 'relaxing' at the the tail end of our trip? Cheers Janeeeeee |

Hello.
What things would you like help with? If you are really confused about where to go, I'd get hold of a Lonely Planet or Rough Guide to India and have a rifle through the Rajasthan, Maharashtra and maybe Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Uttar Pradesh (UP) sections. Once you have an idea what kinds of places might interest you we can dig in with advice on how long to spend where, trains, planes and automobiles, hotels and things to do. You can certainly spend 2 days in Mumbai at the end if you plan your trip carefully. To get you started, how about Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Pushkar - Udaipur - Mt Abu - and train to Mumbai from there? You have some time to fit in extra places too- maybe Ranthambhore if you like wildlife, or Bundi perhaps.

Spending 2 days in Mumbai is not an issue at all , infact if you are upto it maybe you could put in a day at Pune as well which is a 3-4 hour bus ride away...

Thank you both for you starting points. I will start investigating your suggested route and then when i have more of an idea of a 'route' i will come back for some more detailed help. India is so huge it can be a little daunting to the uninitiated.
