Delhi Shimla and back- Please suggest

I along with my wife and 2 yr old daughter are planning to visit Delhi, agra and shimla. I need some suggestion on the below as to what is best.

1. Plan to take a filght from Bangalore to Delhi will be reaching in the morning time.

2. Spend the day i Delhi and see around, we are not very keen on Historic monuments etc. What other things are available to see there?

3. Next day delhi to Agra. Planning to be back on the same day. Train or Bus? which is the best option?
How do I get around in Agra, are A/C taxies available in plenty? How much will they charge for a day?

4. Next from Delhi to Shimla. I have read through different posts here and have decided to take train to Kalka and then the toy train.

5. Now the most important issue. I dont want to take the toy train back to delhi. Bus is not possible as we have a 2 yr old with us. I am looking at taxi,
can anyone help us to find out how much it will cost for me to take a taxi back to Kalka or Delhi.

You can take a VOLVO back to delhi.
On Shimal Mall the office of HPTDC will have plenty to offer your journey back.
And the price of Volvo is within Rs.1000 pp.

My daughter becomes sick during bus journeys, especially on Ghats. Thats why I am asking specifically for Taxi rates.

Anyone has traveled by taxi on this route Shimla-Kalka-Delhi. please throw some light.

Drop from Shimla to Kalka costs approximately 1200-1400 rupees and drop to Delhi costs 3600-4000 rupees.

The best option to travel back would be to take a cab till Kalka and then Shatabdi from Kalka to Delhi. The train leaves Kalka at 5.15 pm and reaches New Delhi at 9.30 pm. In case you want to reach Delhi earlier leave Shimla in the morning by cab and then take Volvo coaches from Chandigarh to Delhi from the sector-17 bus station. Shimla - Chandigarh takes 4 hours and Chandigarh - Delhi in coach will take 5 hours.

Thanks for the info.

I think I need to change the plan slightly as I just came to know about my wifes long shopping list from Delhi!! I dont want to carry all those and go to shimla. Better to spend time in delhi on the return journey.

I am thinking of leaving delhi on the first day itself. I am not sure If I can catch the Himalayan Queeen from Kalka which leaves at 12:10 AM.

How much time it will take from delhi to Kalka by taxi? Any idea, and ofcourse the rate also.
