delhi-jaipur-agra-varanasi-bangalore
Hello, I am flying into Delhi Sept.6 and have a total of 2 weeks.
I need to end up in Bangalore where I will spend time with my mother. I do not have a firm itinerary though I am thinking about some variation of 1 day in delhi, then jaipur-Rathambhore-agra- Varanasi ( perhaps over 5-6 days) and then to Bangalore. What is the easiest? fastest?way to get from Varanasi to Bangalore? Is there a way to fly from Varanasi to Bangalore? A fast train? I am female travelling solo and open to all suggestions. Thanks! (Obviously this is my first trip to India) |

You can spend one day in Delhi. Jaipur is 6hrs away from Delhi by road ( point to point ). If you will start early morning from Delhi, then u can spend 1.5 days in Jaipur too. One day for Agra is enough, Taj in the Morning, Fort in the afternoon and Fatehpur Sikri in the evening. Its advisable to give a pass to Ranthambore during monsoon. May be other members put some more light on that. cheers !! |

Hello RYE and welcome to indiamike.com
Varanasi-Bangalore would be a nightmare journey, if things are still the same as they were 3 months ago, you'd need to fly via Delhi, and the only flights from Varanasi to Delhi were mid afternoon. Varanasi-Bangalore by train would take about 40 hours. Simple solution, Delhi-Varanasi-Agra then other places, ending in Jaipur, then you should be able to get a flight via either Mumbai or Hyderabad to Bangalore. Oops, just remembered, you can also get flights from Varanasi to Mumbai, anyway, have a good play around with the following airline search website and see what option suits you best. www.ixigo.com |

Re: train to varanasi
Thank you for your help! This is a brilliant website.
I have another question: Can I buy an overnight bus ticket (sleeper) from Delhi to Varanasi the day that I want to travel? Or should I purchase ahead of time in case they fill up. It would be a Sunday night trip. Also, it's hard for me to know exactly what night I will fly from Mumbai to Bangalore. Is this a flight that fills up/or the price goes up if I wait till the day of travel? Thanks, RYE |
