Delhi - CHandigarh - Amritsar - Manali - Rishikesh - Delhi

Hello guys,

me and my brother will arrive from our Rajasthan tour in Delhi on July 18th at 11:00 AM and want to visit the following places:

+Chandigarh (just because its on the way..but not a must-see)
+Amritsar/Atari: Golden Temple, border army action festival (?)
+Manali (must-see, we come here because of himalaya)
+maybe Leh when possible
+Rishikesh when possible

we have to return to Delhi for his flight back to germany and my flight back to bangalore on July 29th in the morning (so better be in Delhi on July 28th I guess)

So we got around 10 days. Should we leave away chandigarh and go to amritsar directly first?? Is it possible to get from amritsar to Manali? (cant find any train...maybe by bus? but where can we book this bus or are there seats available right before it starts??)
and rishikesh is probabaly not possible because of time problem, right? but on my map it's on the way back actually...I am so confused where to go.

so I would be very glad if anybody coul give me advise to make a right and possible itinerary...

Why not go to Amristar directly from Rajasthan?
There are two ordinary HRTC buses from Amristar to Manali
There are three buses from Manali to Haridwar (24 kms from Rishikesh)

You can book the tickets as soon as reach Amristar, Manali.
If you are in Delhi then Taj Mahal is a must visit.
You should be able to do this in 10 days if you spend overnight on the bus.

why I dont go to amritsar from rajasthan directly?? Because I cant find any connection...
We are in Jaipur and then in Jaisalmer. From Jaisalmer i booked back to Delhi because I thought this is the only connection to Amritsar.
when anyone can say how to get from jaisalmer to amritsar I would try to change my bookings immediately (trains? busses?)

ok, i think about erasing chandigarh from my list, not enough time. Leh or rishikesh is more important for us.


edit: maybe from jaisalmer to bikaner and then further to amritsar....but how and where to book??!

If Jaislamer is your last stop in Rajasthan then coming to Delhi makes sense.
From where are you coming to Jaipur?

me and my brother will meet in Delhi (he comes from Düsseldorf, Germany) and I will come from Bangalore. Then first we go to Agra and back to Delhi for another day site seeing. Then we go from Delhi to Jaipur, then Jaisalmer and then Delhi again.... little crazy I just realie

so maybe I will do it like they say here:
Amritsar - Bikaner - Jaisalmer

my new plan: from jaisalmer by bus to bikaner (wanted to see this anyways^^) then by train to Makhu (near by Amritsar)... think that wil work out...

That makes sense.
