ps
i am a tourist, so i would really just like to overlaod myself with seeing everything, for the landscape, to the temples and ashrams, to the tiny himlayan villages, would prefer to stay central to north india, due to time being there, the weather and all. Though if you know of something amazing, out of the way, i can always adjust.
Thanks again everyone kyle |

You might enjoy reading this travel blog for some ideas. The writer and his friend covered a lot of the territory that seems to be of interest to you:
http://www.indolink.com/Travel/varanasi.htm Darjeeling is quite far from from your "base of operations." Unless you fly from Delhi to Bagdogra and then travel the rest of the way overland, you're in for a fairly long train journey there and back. As an alternative to Darjeeling, you might consider flying from Delhi to Leh in Ladakh. You won't be disappointed! There are daily flights, but if you decide on this option, when you're scheduling your return to Delhi leave yourself a little "time cushion" because flights are sometimes cancelled for weather-related reasons, even at that time of year, which could cause a real problem if it interferes with your departure from Delhi. |

Kyle
We are leaving for India during December for our second trip - have a look at our itinerary: quite hectic with many places to see, but: what the hell, while you are there, see as many places as possible. We are cramping Udaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, Varanasi and Darjeeling in one trip. I would definately recommend some of teh Rajasatan towns to be included in your trip, such as Jaipur, Jaiselmer, Udaipur or Jodhpur. Enjoy! Our itinerary: Sunday (10-Dec) 4:45 Arrive Mumbai Day in Mumbai 17:10 Depart Mumbai (9W-3405 Jet Airways) 18:55 Arrive Udaipur (9W-3405 Jet Airways) Sleep Udaipur (Hotel Anand Bhawan) Monday (11-Dec) Udaipur Sleep Udaipur Hotel Anand Bhawan) Tuesday (12-Dec) Depart Udaipur (taxi) Arrive Jodphur evening Sleep Jodphur Haveli Guest House) Wednesday (13-Dec) Jodphur Sleep Jodphur (Haveli Guest House) Thursday (14-Dec) Jodphur 19:30 Depart Jodphur (2462 Mandor Exp (1A)) Friday (15-Dec) 5:55 Arrive Delhi Delhi Sleep Delhi (Hotel Relax) Saturday (16-Dec) Full day in Delhi Sleep Delhi (Hotel Relax) Sunday (17-Dec) 6:00 Depart Delhi (2002 Bhopal Shabdi) 8:00 Arrive Agra (2002 Bhopal Shabdi) 21:15 Depart Agra (4864 Marundhar Exp (2A)) Monday (18-Dec) 8:20 Arrive Varanasi Sleep Varanasi (Schindia GH) Tuesday (19-Dec) Full day in Varanasi Sleep Varansi (Schindia GH) Wednesday (20-Dec) Full day in Varanasi 18:35 Depart Varanasi (2506 NE Express) Thursday (21-Dec) 10:35 Arrive NJP (Bagdoghra) 11:00 Depart Darjeeling 15:00 Arrive Darjeeling Half day in Darjeeling Sleep Darjeeling (Shangri-La-Regency) Friday (22-Dec) Full day in Darjeeling Sleep Darjeeling (Shangri-La-Recency) Saturday (23-Dec) Full day in Darjeeling Sleep Darjeeling (Shangri-La-Regency) Sunday (24-Dec) 12:50 Depart Darjeeling (9W-602 Jet Airways) 16:50 Arrive Delhi (9W-602 Jet Airways) Evening Delhi Sleep Delhi (Hotel Relax) Monday (25-Dec) 10:05 Depart Delhi (QR233 Qatar Air) 11:50 Arrive Doha (QR233 Qatar Air) |

We're with Bijapuri. If you have the luxury of one month, then just plan the first few days and then take it day by day. You can get feedback from other travelers about where they've just been and where they are going next, and you can choose your pace of travel. It's not truly a circle trip that you are describing above, because of the rather large mountians involved and the challenge of east west transport. So you might end up with more of a hub and spoke itinerary. Do make sure that you are already home in Delhi the day before your international flight departs, just to be safe that you don't miss it.
