Delhi-Agra-Delhi Shimla-Manali-Kullu Trip seek advice

I have maximum 6 to 7 days with me. I would like to give great time to my young children and have a beautiful memory of India in their mind. I decided to experience with my family Shimla-Manali and for sure not to miss Taj to show it to my son & daughter (10 & 13 yrs old). Not interested in Delhi - just will be using as travelling hub. Plan is to travel in Dec 15-Dec 21

I intend to rent a vehichle and keep it for full time to go everywhere from Delhi. My day start at Delhi on 15th Dec at 12.00 noon.

I will be staying in Oberoi Cecil in Shimla. Original intention was to stay in Shimla for 4 days and take trips around but after reading some views I have decided to see Manali and around.

1. Can some one help me to build my itenerary to fit Delhi-Agra-Mathura-Brindavan (one day?) And Delhi-Shimla-Manali-Delhi (4 days full)?

2. How to maximize daytime in Shimla-Manali trip while travelling to & from Delhi. Is it safe to take a road trip from Delhi to Shimla at night? or better spend a day and enjoy views on the road and be safe?

3. Is there any chance to experience snow during 15-21 Dec in Shimla / Manali?

I am travelling from West Indies and any help will be greatly appreciated.

I love Manali & would always recommend a visit, but 4 days from Delhi & back is not enough, you would be constantly driving. Stick to Shimla only this time. A much cheaper & nicer option than the Cecil is Woodville Palace Heritage Hotel IMHO. I decided to splash out & stayed there for 2 nts in August. We paid around Rs7000 for 2 people for two nights inc buffet B'fast & buffet evening dinner http://www.woodvillepalacehotel.com/ KK

Shimla Manali through Jalori pass is a wonderful trip. Unfortunately due to heavy snow, Jalori pass may be closed.
I suggest you do either Shimla circuit(Shimla, Narkanda and back), or go towards Manali. Eg
Day 1:
Delhi - Aut - Tirthan valley area(Shoja, Ghusaini etc.)
Day 2:
Explore Jalori pass till you can go before you hit snow and explore Tirthan valley, its lovely
Day 3 :
Go to Manali
Day 4 and 5
Explore Manali rohtang, Solang velley
Day 6
Delhi - Manali

Shimla circuit
Day 1:
Delhi Shimla
Day 2 :
Explore shimla
Day 3 :
Excursions to Kufri, Fagu, etc. and go to Narkanda
Day 5 :
Trek or drive to Hatu peak
Day 6 :
Laze on banks of Sutlej, and start from Delhi after noon

Day 1: Fly to Delhi - reach at 11.30 AM. Drive (taxi) to Shimla reach by 9.00 PM (Does it make sense?)

Day 2:Explore shimla

Day 3:Excursions to Kufri, Fagu, etc. and go to Narkanda

Day 4: Early morning to Manali (reach by noon? What to do?)

Day 5: In & around Manali (Please advise!)

Day 6: Laze on banks of Sutlej, and start FOR Delhi after noon

Once you reach Manali, you could pay a visit to the Hadimba Temple & take a stroll through the forest beyond there. Then take a stroll up hill to old Manali. Next day you could take a bus to Nagar in the morn & see the wooden castle/hotel & the Nicholas Roerich museum & gallery. In the afternoon bus back to Manali & walk upto Vashisht on the other side of the river.

Where are you going to "Laze on the banks of the Sutlej"????
The Sutlej is in the kinnaur valley not Kullu, do you mean the Beas? KK

I still, think its too tight and rushed , its doable , but i really dont think you are going to get much of a feeler for either place within the number of days you have.... my advice , pick 1.

Puchoo, thanks. I thought anything like 200 - 300 km distance means 2-3 hour on the road but appearantly not so I think I will take your and kullukids advice.
