DAMAN: Do? Or Don't?
Hello All Intrepid Travellers:
I am really liking the look of Daman on the Arabian Sea coast for a one-night stand. A Sunday in mid-March to be precise. Any recommendation for nice places to stay? Things not to miss? I read alcohol and Indian public holidays are a some of the popular reasons for Daman's popularity. But beyond that, a nice beach town is always a nice draw for me. Any opinions? Thank you. |

don't make the mistake of going to daman if its beaches and an easy clean beach destination that u r looking for. Daman is hinterland to the industrial area, beaches not swimmable and dirty. Black sand and smelly mud. The hotels are ok. This is part of a beautiful coastline, but u dont get to see it in daman.
Diu and goa r what u r looking for if its a beach destination. Or maybe kerala and places south of mumbai and south of goa. i live in diu and daman is administrative/government office HQs for us. Visiting daman is a sort of punishment, but have to do it because of work. Unlike diu where it can get quite slow and boring at times, at least there are clean and quiet places to wander around and a couple of very good beaches. Besides the laid back and no traffic and almost no polluiton areas. Anyaway DROP daman as a beach destination and more... |
