Corbett to Varanasi Hi, I'm thinking of going to Corbett in November this year before moving on to Varanasi. Does anyone know the best way to travel between these two places and how long it might take? Ideally I'd like to go by train but can consider other options. Thanks Katie

Ramnagar is the entry point to Jim Corbett. There is a direct train from Ramnagar to Varanasi but it only has a sleeper coach and no A/C compartments. Also it appears to be pretty slow taking close to two days. Your best bet is taking a train from moradabad to Varanasi. There are a number of trains from Moradabad. It will take about 15 hrs of travel from moradabad. Moradabad itself is about 90 kms from Ramnagar.

Hello Katie and welcome to indiamike. ragz info is perfect, just to add, try to get your train from Moradabad to Varanasi Jn booked early, there are some well timed overnight trains (dep. 21:30, arr 09:20), but this journey won't be covered in the general quota, so there may only be a few tickets for travel between these stations. Moradabad-Varanasi trains. Ignore train 2458A, it's a 'special', and it's unlikely to still be running when you travel. Try to book a train that starts it's journey in Delhi, it's less likely to be delayed. To find where a train starts it's journey (on erail), enter the train number near the centre of the middle line, then click on 'Get Train Route'.

I did the opposite journey back in January of this year but didn't do it all by train. Instead, I flew from Varanasi to Delhi and then took the overnight Ranikhet Express, 5013, to Ramnagar. Have a great time in Corbett; it was one of the highlights of my trip! ![]()
