Coimbatore to Mysore via Sathyamangalam
Coimbatore to Mysore via Sathyamangalam
As the NHs connectiong Wynad (sultan Bathery) and Ooty to Mysore are banned traffic in the night, we are planning to reach Mysore from Kochi via Coimbatore - Sathyamangalam - Chamarajanagar - Nanjangud. Is this road ok for night travel in car / van ?
Advice from informed travellers are thanked in advance.

Road is Perfect from Kochi to Asanur [Tamilnadu / Karnataka border]. Asanur to Chamarajanagara road is relaid to Good except that Road widening is in progress for last 5 kms. ChamarajaNagara - Nanjangudu, Road is Good .Nanjangudu to Mysore Road is Average with Very very very heavy traffic !
From Bannari Temple onwards till Asanur , Chances of seeing Elephants, Deers are more and it will be normally deserted any time of the Day and Avoid Stopping in that Stretch .Even Last week I went in that road and had a chance of seeing 3 Wild Elephants out of which one is Rogue and infact it Started running behind our Vehicle for 20 feet.
If you leave coimbatore,Then Mysore is the best bet for Food eventhough there are Several Small hotels , Petty shops on the way.
P.S:-
1.Hope you are aware, there are 27 Hairpin bends in Dimbham Ghat road just after bannari temple .This hint will help if you drive on your own !
2.At night time, Absolutely there are no issues except that Avoid stopping the Vehicle just after Bannari Temple until Asanur / Chamaraja Nagara !
Hope this helps
