Christmas booking Kerala/Tamil Nadu - for backpackers??
Threads on here all suggest booking in advance in Kerala and places like Puducherry etc, but these seem to be more for more middle range type places. I'm on my own, staying in more basic accommodation, and am very flexible on where I stay - am I still going to need to book ahead?

many places in cochin, varkala, kovalam full over those dates already. you may be lucky with very basic accommodation if you leave it until you arrive.
