Chinese American citizen here, Dharamsala problem?

My parents said me going to Dharamsala and being around the Dalai Lama would result in us being blacklisted by Chinese officials and being banned from their country, etc.

Can anybody comment on this? It doesn't sound true.
Life is all about the journey.

Well, for one stop writing about in your dharamsala experience and express political sympathies in a blog. The chinese visa policy is rather opaque when it comes to ethnic chinese who may or may not have sympathies to tibetan/falang gong/Uighur ... causes. I have yet to hear from (not internet hearsay) Asian Americans being denied entry into mainland china for tourism.

So... are you saying that it is NOT an urban legend, or that it IS? It reads like you argue in favour of both sides.

I can't speak for Asian Americans, but I do know some Indian Americans and Canadians who have been to Dharamshala and later toured in China. So that's why I feel it's an urban legend.

The chinese government has many secret officials keeping watch over the Tibetan government and I was just wondering if there was any problems with me being considering I am not attempting to help gain Tibetan freedom.

No, I am just saying that one should not be overtly blogging. I have not heard of Asian americans being denied entry into mainland china. I cannot comment on TAR permit.

Why don't you enrol for a Tibetan language course?
