Chill It, Or What?
I'm looking at something like 6 to 10 weeks in India, starting from Kolkata.
So far I've narrowed my possible itinerary to: Kolkata Darjeeling Sikkim (Maybe Bhutan) Varanasi Amritsar Jodhpur Jaipur Agra Delhi I'll be leaving the south for another trip as I plan to return very soon. Now, granted that I probably won't fly at all, and take trains/buses/jeeps.. do you think that might be too rushed? I've already been to Kolkata and Darjeeling, just going back to see some people or buy supplies. The 'real' trip probably starts from Sikkim. I like to take time to "get into" a place, mostly because I'll be doing a lot of photography and some travel writing. So slow, engaged travel is something I like. I have lost sense of the sense of time and space on the subcontinent, so.. If you were me, with 6-10 weeks for that: would you cut out places from the list? Think it's ok? Add more? |

Drop Bhutan and you can manage the balance very comfortably in 6-10 weeks.
