Chennai To Ladakh

Hi Guys...this is my first post...I'm planning to have trip to Ladakh from Chennai...I'm pretty much clue less about how to get there and how much time it would take. Can neone guide on this.

I'm planning to take a train to delhi and then flight from delhi to leh. Kindly suggest how many days I should plan for Ladakh. Thnx a lot.

You should be planning to spend at least two to three weeks if you are traveling from Chennai in a train. My advice would be to take a flight from Chennai to Srinagar or Delhi and from there take the land route. This would actually turn out to be a cheaper option if you book in advance.

The train part from chennai to del it shall be easy for you to figure out now all flight s from del to leh operate early morning first starting as early as 0500 hrs and the latest goes by 0630 hrs
So if your train reaches accordingly it shall be a boon or else you will have to spend a night @ delhi !!
Now there are only three carriers for del to leh uptil 2006 there were only two JET and IA now DECCAN also serves but all have fare s of Rs 4700 and above economy class . Now the deal is like already most of them are running almost fully booked !!!! Yes call up and confirm with airlines so do not go without a return ticket under your belt !!!

Other detail s of you travelling and staying there i shall help you out once you tell me the number and age group of people going with you

What yogesh sir suggest s is the best way to do it, but for first timer s i think flying is good even yours truly did a fly in fly out trip for the first time and could nt resisit the khujli of doin a road trip which i did in sept 07 plans for 08 were made then only !!!!
