bombay-delhi and in between

hi!
ive revised my itinerary and this is what i propse to do!
June 1st-bombay-goa-bombay-delhi-rishikesh-hardiwar-kullu valley-manali-leh-delhi-august 1st.
however. i fancy a few stops between bombay and delhi...any advice?

There are direct trains from Goa to Delhi, so you don't have to go back to Bombay unless you want to.

You can visit Indore, Ujjain, Mandu, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar; in Madhya Pradesh.

Alternatively, you may go to Delhi directly from Goa-as Anders has suggested above- and spend more time in the hills.

im not sure whether to go direct to delhi. i hear thats a pretty long journey...like 30 hours or something.
i was thinking i would stop in udaipur and jaipur.
but i will look up your suggestiong shimla....as im afraid ive never heard of them!
im really excited about heading to the hills! it looks beautiful up there.
is there anywhere in particular i have left out that i must see or anything i have to do? (i had planned to visit shimla also but i forgot to include it in the above posts)

There is a hill station in MP "pachmadhi" it's beautiful.
Ujjain is famous for the Shiv Temple and Indore is kind of "only metro" city in MP.
Mandu is a nice place but little off the road.

For long journey-
http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ would give you better idea.if you take Rajdhani or any superfast train it would be ok..
