big plan - help pls.

can someone help me string together a big as well as hurricane trip??

i want to see the following places in one shot -

RAJASTHAN – jaisalmer, jodhpur (ranakpur), udaipur, mt abu, jaipur
GUJRAT – ahmdabad (lothal), daman, palitana (shatrunjaya), junagarh (rajkot), diu
MADHYA PRADESH – Indore (ujjain, omkareswar)
MAHARASHTRA – ajanta, Bombay
KARNATAKA – mysore (somnathpur), badami (aihole, pattadakkal), halebid (belur)
KERELA – trivandum (varkala), kollam, allepy, cochin (ernakulam)
TAMIL NADU – chennai (kanchi), pondi (chidmbrm), thanjvur (trichy, kumbaknm), kodai, ooty


I have already seen some places - so i will spend very little time in those (jaisalmer, jodhpur, ahmedabad, ujjain, indore).


basically i want to see the "tourist spots" of all the places and push on to the next place. no "stay and soak up the ambience" stuff - cos i know the feel of most indian states quite well as it is.

can some one help me plan the trip??

i want to begin in chennai and finish in jaipur.

You seem to want a lot of help, yet you're not giving enough information.

Your last couple of posts seem to suggest that you want to do this trip as fast as possible.

You can see 5 cities in a day if you really want to, no fun though.

I spent 2 and a half days in Mysore, but could have stayed for 5 days.

How long have you got for this trip?

How long will you spend in each region?

What are you interested in seeing/doing?

i am interested in seeing the "tourist spots" and pushing off to the next place.

a hurricane "once over" kind of trip.


here's how i plan (skeleton plan) to do it.


TAMIL NADU –

chennai (kanchi) - seen chennai b4. want to see fort st george & beach. then kanchipuram. 1 day.
pondi (chidmbrm) - see pondi b4. want to see again. & chidambaram. 2 days.
thanjvur (trichy, kumbaknm), no idea about these. can i do them in 2 days??
kodai, ootywant to stay one or 2 days (2D,1N) each in these places.

KERELA

– trivandum (varkala), - 2 days. one day at each beach.
kollam, allepy, - 1 day. including 4 hour boat trip
cochin (ernakulam)- 1 day.

KARNATAKA

– mysore (somnathpur), - 1 day???
badami (aihole, pattadakkal), - 1 day??
halebid (belur) - 1 day??

MAHARASHTRA –

ajanta, - day trip. so 1 day
Bombay - been before. will meet friends. 1 day.

MADHYA PRADESH –

Indore (ujjain, omkareswar) - 2 days for these. seen b4, but lost pics. so going back.

GUJRAT –

ahmedabad (lothal), - been b4. 1 day.
daman, - 1/2 days
palitana (shatrunjaya), - 1/2 days
junagarh (rajkot), - 1 day
diu = 1/2 days.

RAJASTHAN –

jaisalmer, - 1 day. been there for almost a week b4.
jodhpur (ranakpur), - pic tour. jodhpur fort & temples of ranakpur. 1 day.
udaipur, - 2/3 days
mt abu, - 1/2 days
jaipur - seen b4. 1 day to see what i missed last time.


roughly 30-40 days. the lesser the better. likely start = 1st feb to 10 feb.

is ooty and kodai repeatitive?

i'm just planning my trip which will go:

-delhi
-chandigarh
-agra
-jhansi/orcha
-varanasi
-darjeeling
-guwahati
-kaziranga NPark
-fly to mumbai
-ellora caves
-fly to jaipur
-jaisalmer
-jodphur
-ranthambore NPark
-back to delhi

this is over 35 days, which will be quite a squeeze. yours seems more ambitious and doesn't seem to include provision for travel in between places (at least the way you've written it).

i think you will need to cut some stuff out!

most of my travelling will be at night. almost every place is an over night's journey from the next place or lesser.


also i just want to see the tourist spots of each place and push off.
