best places to travel in india in december

My boyfriend and i are hoping to do a few weeks of travelling in india between 10 dec - 6th jan 07 so 3 and a half weeks or so. Any advice where to go would be great! its the first time going without my parents and the first time for my boyfriend. We would like a bit of adventure and then some beach and were initially thinking to go to rajasthan for 2 weeks and then down to goa for 1 week over xmas and new years, however iv been told the weather may not be that great up in rajasthan. we will most probably fly into amhedabad and leave from there too. Anyone have any suggestions that would be economic, scenic yet fun, cultured and relaxed!! ha, i know i'm asking for a lot but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could try Andamans

In winter Rajasthan has temperatures 22C daytime 8C night.
If you want warmer weather-same as Dubai- stay in Gujurat-visit Diu,Rajkot. Bhuj, Shatrunjaya etc.
for warmer weather-30C Konkan coast ,Kerala.

For winters, the best thing to do is go and enjoy the snows...

Your tour program seems to be fine, Rajasthan has perfect weather condition in december and Goa is an year around place.
You can also try Kerala and Andaman Islands. These are also fascinating tourist sites for travelers.
