begining of feb till march

Hello,
What a wonderful site! Can anyone give me some advice. I had planned to go to the himalayas but have just realised how cold it will be. so I'm going to save that for another time.
Where should I go???? I like natural beauty rather than historic buildings. Like mountains/hills and countryside. would be nice to be somewhere warm. don't mind going off the beaten track. Where were the most magical places you went?

Hello karin !

If you can postpone your visit by just a month and make it in March&April, then there are plenty of places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, J&K, West Bengal and Sikkim which will whet your appetite for the hills.

Karin, I don't know if you can make it to the south during your trip, but Munner in Kerala really impressed me. It's high in the mountains and has lots of tea estates. Great views right down through South India and once you are up you can hire a bicylce as it is quite flat in places. The hill station, kodaikanal, over the border in Tamil Nadu is also worth checking out. And still in the South not far from Mysore is the Nilgi Hills and another hill station, Ooty. These places are high up, surrounded by great scenery and you won't freeze.

places i would suggest if ur coming down in feb would be daman & diu , andaman nicobar islands, mt abu in rajasthan, darjeeling,gangtok.
