Banglore-mysore-ooty-kodaikanal-madurai-rameswaram-kanyakumari-trivandrum

Hi Dear ALL,
I am new to india mike & found this site very helpful & interesting for all. Hence i joined the site.
I need help from all of you as i am plannig a 10 day trip during 20th to 30th June 2012.
The destinations are:-
Bangalore-mysore-ooty-kodaikanal-madurai-rameswaram-kanyakumari-trivendram.

I will reach at Bangalore Airport on 19th june in the night @ 10 pm & stay in our guest house at Bangalore.
Pls guide me whether i can get luxury buses/ trains between the places. Also advice hotels to stay at the places & places of interest in these places.

As of now i have planned the following itenarary :-
20th June- Early morning start from bangaloer rly stn to mysore jn. Reach mysore by afternoon & take a hotel at mysore (pls suggest some good Karnataka tourism hotel) Mysore sight seeing & overnight stay at mysore.
21st- Early morning move to ooty. reach ooty by afternoon. take a hotel at ooty (pls suggest some good Karnataka tourism hotel) Evening roaming at ooty.
22nd- Full day sight seeing at ooty.
23rd.- Early morning start for kodaikanal. Reach kodaikanal by evening & take a hotel at kodaikanal(pls suggest some good tamilnadu tourism hotel).
24th- Full day sight seeing at Kodaikanal.
25th- Full day sight seeing at Kodaikanal.
26th- Half day sight seeing at Kodaikanal & move to madurai in the evening. Reach madurai & take a hotel.
27th- Early morning visit to madurai temple & Depart to rameswaram. Visit to rameswaram temple & move to kanyakumari in the night itself.
28th- Reach kanyakumari in the morning. Take a hotel & after refreshment, visit to rameswaram temple. After temple visit, move to trivendram.
29th- stay at trivendram.
30th- catch train from trivendram in the morning.

I have checked that there are many trains from bangalore to mysore in the morning & i have planed to move in train.
Pls advice how to reach ooty from mysore.
Pls advice how to reach kodaikanal from ooty.
Pls advice how to reach madurai from kodaikanal.
Pls advice how to reach rameswaram from madurai.
Pls advice how to reach kanyakumari from rameswaram.
Pls advice how to reach trivendram from kanyakumari.

Also advice how much would an AC Indica Taxi cost for the above tour.
Pls help, i have only few days left & need to plan at the earliest.

How many people are traveling? I doubt if you would get train tickets at such a short notice. The only option would be traveling by bus or car.

Mysore to Ooty there are quite a few buses. Check www.ksrtc.in
I doubt if there are direct buses from Ooty to Kodaikanal. You may have to change bus in Coimbatore.
Kodaikanal to Madurai frequent buses.
Madurai to Rameshwaram again frequent buses. There are a few daily passenger trains also.
Rameshwaram to Kanyakumari there might a few direct buses.
Kanyakumari to Trivandrum frequent buses.

Dear Aarosh, Thanks for your reply. We are 4 Adults & 1 kid.
I have searched a lot for buses & trains in between these places. I found bus service from bangalore to mysore & mysore to ooty. But as you said, i could not find any bus service from ooty to koadaikanal. I was also thinking of going by changing bus as coimbatore. Rameswaram to kanyakumari train & bus are there. Kindly suggest some good hotels & places of interest in these cities.

Mysore - Ooty buses are somewhat frequent. Ooty - Kodaikanal trip will be the difficult part.
Please don't miss Danushkodi near Rameswaram. There is an early morning train from Madurai to Rameswaram. And a triweekly train to Kumari from Rameswaram.
Also direct buses from Kanya Kumari to Trivandrum are less. Train though less frequent is a better option. Or come to Nagercoil. (near to 20 Kms from KK).
Coimbatore, Madurai, Nagercoil has more than one bus stand. That will be tricky. So learn their names too.
But you are missing Brihadeswara Temple of Tanjore.
