About 835km
Belgaum Hubli range can be an overnight halt. Or can be done in one day, tiring, specially if only one driver. Better two days. Roads in Maharashtra may be in better condition. I am told some IOC petrol pumps in Maharashtra have ok motels with them now. But don't count on it. http://www.mapsofindia.com/driving-d...tions-map.html http://www.nhai.org/NH4_Mumbai_Chennai_english.htm Quote:

as Catp. said, start early. go Via IISc.
in case you can't start early, take outer ring road. and hit the pune road just before Neelmangala. road between chitradurga and hubli is BAD (notice the caps). even after Hubli; in some parts, one side of the road is closed and traffic is merged on one side of the divider. and its done without giving any warning sign to the traffic of the other side. so be prepared to see oncoming traffic in your lane. can be very dangerous. i have seen accidents and almost had one. belgaon and satara are good places for night stay |
