Aurangabad... and then...

hey all,

It my second time to India and I am wondering where to go. I've already been to delhi, Varanasi, Kajuraho, bombay, radjastan and goa.
My plan for the first week looks like this:

day1 Delhi
day2 Agra (see Taj)
day3-5 Orcha
day6-7 Aurangabad (See Ajanta caves)

then I have two weeks left.
Where should I go?

Thanx!

I think I already answered this on on the TT but here you go, Make your way upto Mandu Maheshwar both worthy of a couple of days if not longer. If you want to see something of the spritual side of India Ohmkerashwar is worth a visit.
Via Indore you could head upto Bhopal from here to Deogargh,Orchha, Gwalior or Pachmeri then maybe take in Jabalpur and a park at Khanna or Bandhavgargh

You may go to Bombay, then to Goa, then to Kerela, God's own country.

The list is endless, you have to plan according to your interest.
Happy Journey

Orchha is a must see so please do not miss it. Jhansi and Gwalior are also nearby and worth seeing if you have the time. Visit Aurangabad for the Ajanta and Ellora caves besides the poor man's Taj Mahal (Bibi Ka Makbara), Aurangabad caves, Daulatabad Fort, Khuldabad (Emperor Aurangzeb's tomb), Paithani and Himroo saree workshops and the water mill are some of the other sites to see there. If you have time then also try seeing Madhya Pradesh for Bhopal, Sanchi, Bhimbetka, Vidisha, Gyaraspur, Bhojpur, Panchmarhi, Mandu, Bandhavgarh (best place for the tigers) and Jabalpur (marble rocks). If you still want more then go to Mysore, Hampi, Belur, Halebid, Pattadakkal, Aihole, Badami for the ancient temple towns in Karnataka. Really interesting stuff to see in all these places so see what you can in your remaining two weeks in India!!!

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.

I'm leaving South from Aurangabad my next trip. I have been advised to "keep it simple" and as per that advise suggested to take the overnight train to Hyderbad. My travel guru says that that train is on the "main line".

So one of the options from Aurangabad is the overnight train to Hyderbad.

Has anyone else taken this train? Does it leave daily? What is that train line, and any other advise for it?

Well, no Aurangabad isn't on what you could call a "main line" but there is indeed a daily Mumbai-Hyderabad express that leaves Aurangabad in the evening and arrives Secunderabad (for Hyderabad) the next morning. I took it once and it was quite good.
